Flowering Currant, Buffalo Currant

An erect shrub with bright green leaves, turning red and purple in autumn.
VERY Fragrant clove spicey scented, pendent, yellow flowers in spring followed by black fruit. Does'nt smell like cat pee like some currants.

I stock this plant/shrub because I caught a whiff of it one afternoon walking and I had to hunt it down, (700 meters later!)The lady at the house where a nice hedge of it was blooming told me its name... A bottle of sherry later and I had some cuttings to begin mother stock. Three years later and you can have it.......

Flowers from March to May.
Fruit colour Black.
Fruits from June.

Hardy.
Planting instructions Back-fill with soil mixed with peat and a suitable fertiliser.

Large plant 4-5 ltr pots about 16/20 inches high. Not many left so hurry.
